Ministries
Explore our ministries, you are invited to come and
discover the love of our Christian fellowship:
Introduction
The Bible teaches us that Spiritual Gifts are apportioned by God through Jesus Christ
for the church to be built up in service for God’s Kingdom. We believe everybody has
gifts and abilities that they may discover, apply and harmonize with others for the sake
of glorifying God. Therefore, we encourage everybody to discover and grow in the
ministry of the Gospel in real and practical ways. When people grow together in
ministry, lives are changed and new life through the Spirit increases.
Ministry Team and Deacons Ministry
Our church leadership is organized in two groups:
1). The Ministry Team : Church members who represent the congregation in
taking care of the church’s ministries through administration, planning, finance and
facility. The members of the Ministry Team are voted in place and serve rotating limited
terms. The head of the Ministry Team is the Moderator, our current Moderator is Ozell
Johnson. Our current clerk and secretary is Marion Bryan, the current treasurer is Mike
Gwinn, our current Children’s Ministry Coordinator is Linda Blades, our current
Financial Secretary is Delores McCravy, and other members include Twila
Wannamaker, Irving Smith, Sarah Neveux, Hyun Min Chang, Rev. Scott Arnold, and
Rev. Isaac Park.
2). Deacons Ministry: Church members who care for the spiritual and practical
needs of the church flock through shepherding care. Each deacon is assigned a group
of people to maintain support and contact with. The deacons also assist in worship and
aid the pastor and the ministries of the church when needed. Deacons are Christians
whose maturity and character is exemplary. Deacons are also voted in place and serve
on a rotating basis. The current deacons are: Al Chisholm, Ozell Johnson, Twila
Wannamaker, Linda Blades and Irving Smith.

Growing Together - 11:15 A.M. Sundays
Choir Ministry and Praise Team
The Choir is a vital part of our worship service and sings at least the second and fourth
Sundays of each month. The Choir practices on Wednesdays, September 23,
October 7th and 21st, from 7:30 - 8:30pm and on Sundays September 27, October
11th, 25th the choir practices at 9:30am. in the sanctuary. Come and discover the
joy of singing God’s praise with others. Our choir director is Joan Mickel and she has a
wonderful gift of playing the piano and directing. Both traditional and newer choral
selections are utilized. We sing in two to four part harmony, and appreciate people of
varying levels of singing experience.
PRAISE TEAM:
The Praise Team offers people an opportunity to lead others with singing and
instrumentation for choruses, contemporary praise songs and hymns. We believe that
Praise should speak to various generations, so we try to keep it accessible and still
current. Instrumentation includes: Piano, guitar, drums, flute, synthesizer and others. If
you would like to join in, we would be happy to arrange an audition.
Singing praise for God before the congregation is not a “performance”, but an offering
of gratitude. Let Pastor Scott know if you would like to sing or play an instrument in the
Praise Team. Our rehearsals are the first Saturday of each month from 9am till
10am. Next rehearsal is October 3rd (Sat) at 9am.

Women’s Ministries
The Women’s Group of the church meets the last MONDAY of each month at 7:30pm
in the Main Building’s cafe. The women of the church work toward White Cross mission
projects that involve making bandages for hospitals around the world, they promote the
mission and welfare of the church through projects and fund raisers, they meet for
friendship, they support missions, they address the concern of human trafficking
through their involvement with “All Hands In”.
Men’s Ministries
The men of the church have helped cook and serve at Church BBQ’s and Picnics.
They have also worked to help organize churchwide cleanups. Several small groups of
men meet for support. Many of our men are involved in the “Boston Baptist Social
Union” - a laymen’s association that meets monthly for dinner and special programs.

A Great time of Discovering, Exploring and Growing.
Each summer we have a wonderful time with children, youth and adults
growing in faith. We utilize creative curriculum, have engaging songs,
games and crafts. Children discover how faith in Jesus Christ is vital and
meaningful.
Youth and Children’s Ministries
We believe all children are loved by God. The role of the church is to provide a
loving community that nutures the faith, hope and love of children and youth.
Children need to know that God is real, God loves us, God forgives us and God
wants us to personally come to receive His Son Jesus Christ as our Lord and
Savior. The church is also responsible to join with parents and grandparents in
teaching the Bible so that young people will participate in spiritual growth as
disciples of Jesus Christ. Learning the lessons of Scripture will equip children and
youth to make wise decisions and develop Godly values. Our goal is that children
and youth will come to see themselves in a healthy light and in a Biblical
framework, that they are loved and valued and that God desires us to seek His
righteousness and discover His grace to forgive us our sin. Our goal is that
children and youth will develop good faith practices in prayer, scripture reading, and
make personal applications of God’s Word for life.
Our church has children and youth of all ages. We do have a nursery to help in
the care of infants and toddlers.
During worship children receive a message as they come forward, then
afterward they remain in the sanctuary to either do a Bible activity related to the
sermon at tables in the back or to sit with their parents in the pews. The pastor’s
sermon has a printed outline that helps them follow along and fill in the blanks if
they want to.
The “Growing Together” time for the children (Sunday classes) takes place
following the general fellowship and food time at the Connections Building lower
level after worship. After getting their snack, the Children’s Class meets upstairs at
Connections (ages 4-11), The Teen Class (12-17) meets in the Cafe room that is in
the main building below the Sanctuary. This “Growing Together” time is concluded
at 12:15 pm.
